Roblox is rolling out enhanced parental controls, equipping guardians with advanced options to oversee the individuals their children interact with and the virtual worlds they explore, as detailed in a recent blog entry by Matt Kaufman, the company’s chief safety officer.
These enhancements expand on modifications launched last year, which featured a unique account type enabling parents and caregivers to supervise certain elements of their child’s platform usage remotely. This followed accounts underscoring instances where Roblox fell short in safeguarding young users.

With the latest updates, parents who have connected their account to their child’s can now block and flag specific individuals on that child’s friends list. Kaufman explains that children under 13 are unable to reverse blocks set by their parents, though they may petition to have those contacts reinstated.
Parents will also gain the ability to prohibit access to particular experiences and games, a step beyond the previous limitation of restricting content based solely on maturity ratings. Similar to blocked contacts, kids under 13 cannot lift these restrictions until reaching 13, although they can submit requests for access.
Moreover, Kaufman reveals that Roblox will now allow parents to view the 20 experiences their children have engaged with most frequently over the preceding week, offering deeper insight into their digital activities.
