Samsung has reportedly ceased the distribution of its highly anticipated One UI 7 update after identifying a glitch that left some Galaxy S24 users unable to unlock their devices.
The suspension was initially highlighted by insider Ice Universe, who noted the emergence of a “critical issue.” Although the problem appears to have surfaced primarily among South Korean owners of Galaxy S24 series devices, Samsung has opted for caution, halting the update’s rollout across all models globally.
For those who have already installed One UI 7, our checks using the CheckFirm app reveal that Samsung’s servers no longer list the update as the current firmware for various Galaxy devices, with earlier versions now displayed instead. The company has yet to officially acknowledge the suspension or outline plans to address issues for users who have applied the update. We’ve contacted Samsung for further clarification.

One UI 7 Rollout Timeline and Delays
The update, which introduces Android 15 alongside a suite of AI enhancements, began its rollout to Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 devices on April 7th, reaching the US by April 10th. It has been pre-installed on Galaxy S25 models and included in updates for the budget-friendly Galaxy A series since their market debut in February.
This interruption comes after a prolonged delay in delivering the update to older devices. One UI 7 reached users seven months after Android 15 was released to developers and two months following the launch of the S25 series, which shipped with the software.
